👍Oh i did already, Lin's number is 17. 😎
I'm not sure what's going on.
i had spoke with Dr Cammarata. They will be pulling people off the wl based off their MCAT scores according to him
i think it is ranked by high, med, low. i called two days ago and was told i was high wl
maybe someone else can confirm the ranking? i dont know when we should expect movement though.. apparently they had 7000 applications this year

it didnt indicate any type of rank- DOA said that the rank depends on how early you get waitlisted and that they take 40% of that list. so the earlier you get wl the better im assuming
so then is what you said earlier by the DOA false?? (below is what you stated earlier)
im assuming his letter did not indicate any sort of ranking, just like the rest of us.
but when he called two days ago he was told he was high waitlisted.
so neither of it has to be false.

is it weird if i had a dream last night that i was in a restaurant with some friends, and was checking my email on my phone and got an email from Touro saying i was accepted, and then i freaked out and started going crazy in the restaurant and my friends tried to contain me...then woke up after my friend tackled me over my chair haha
I just received an email from Mr. Perez saying I was placed on the priority waitlist. Did anyone get a similar email? I interviewed 2/15 and got my waitlist letter 3/3, then this email came today.
When did you interview? For some reason, we tend to fill a huge percentage of the class early in the cycle, then waitlist even great applicants in the spring semester.
Don't give up hope though, I made it in even though my initial waitlist spot was higher than 50. Not sure if that will happen this year, but it has in the past.

Thanks LesBois 🙂
Interviewed just last week. I'm already gearing up to go for the next cycle in June if nothing comes through this one.
well the thing is....they dont care about verbal so although you got a 28, which is average, you got an 8 in the physical section which is def holding you back....i stayed after my interview and discussed the mcat with the guy in charge of years 1-2, i was told that they dont even look at the verbal score because its unfair to certain ppl.......im debating nycom vs touro vs umdnj vs one md school i got into, so at least 1 waitlist spot will probably open, best of luck to all
and honestly someone mentioned 28 being competitive, im not sure anymore, everywhere i interviewed i was hearing mostly 30 and up mcat scores, unless that is ppl are lying of course, then shame on them!!
I sent all my apps in the middle of january, 31 mcat, 3.6 sci, 3.8 overall, and I STILL felt the heat of the competition, theres a rise in ppl applying to DO schools as well, bc we all know going MD is a roll of the dice sometimes and excruciatingly difficult to get into.

AND one more thing come on people lets use some logic and reasoning here, do you really believe that there is no ranking to the waitlist? SO if theres 100 ppl on the waitlist with no type of ranking, are they just doing a lottery drawing? Im sure there is some method and im willing to bet it rests a lot on the MCAT, that is one objective measure that we were all on fair grounds when we took the test, even gpa can be deceiving....
cole smalls, i literally talked to the director of the first two years and he told me word for word, they dont even look at verbal, he said he takes student with 10 bio, 10 physical, and 5 verbal, bc all they care about is the bio and physical
and im pretty sure 28 is the new average for ppl getting in, dont see why it would be any lower
and yea i did apply very late, but luckily still got in everywhere i applied, its very possible if you are motivated and show them that at the interview

I was talking to students who attend Western and they told me the same thing. Is this true for other DO schools?
Yes and No. It appears that for at least a 2 year period it was 100% true. Now it appears that the school wants to up its stats, so while they claim it to be true, it is definitely *not* the case if you are put on waitlist. They are using MCAT scores (including verbal) as one of the first filtering mechanisms on the waitlist now that its pretty much the end of interview season. Supposedly (and I have no reason to doubt them) the MCAT verbal is still not being utlized when selecting who to interview and who from interview gets accepted. But if you dont get straight in from the interview, that verbal score will count then.

the verbal score by itself is not being looked at for when you are waitlisted, its just the total mcat score that they are looking at.
