Hi!! Just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone is applying for OT program at Touro University Nevada for the 2017-2018 cycle? I have a friend who is currently an OT student there, she said interview process just started last week...The admission counselor told me that my interview date should be somewhere in Feb, but want to see if anyone is also getting late interview dates or had already interviewed. Best wishes to everyone who is applying to this school!!!

I just had my interview yesterday! I also interviewed there last year but unfortunately was waitlisted and didn't get in! I'm really hoping this year is the year!!
They said that they started interviewing the first Thursday of January and will continue every Thursday until the 1st week of March!
Good luck to you otbygrace18! : )

Hi FutureOT1994,

I am really hoping this year is the year too! I also interviewed there last year, got waitlisted and din't get in as well.. How was the interview this year? Charles told me that I will most likely get an interview in late Feb, but I was hoping that I can get an earlier date because I got a pretty early date last year. Regardless, I am thankful for the opportunity though! Touro is my top choice, so I will try my best this year.

Im sorry for the late response! The interview was a little different than last year because there are people going into the doctorate program there too! It's not too much different though! Are you going for the MSOT or the DOT degree? Also have you applied to any other schools? I should've applied to more than I have this year! So far I've had the in person interview at Touro and 1 video interview at Loma Linda!

I got an email today and I am accepted! Best of luck to you both 🙂
Congrats that's so exciting! If you don't mind me asking, when was your interview date? And which degree are you shooting for? Also is this your top school?

My interview was last week, the 11th! I am going for the masters.

Hello everyone! Congrats on you acceptances. I am still waiting for an interview. I have also applied to 2 other school awaiting interviews as well. Good luck!

I'm still debating applying. I have my application filled out, just waiting for my next paycheck! What kind of questions did they ask at your interview?

Hey everyone, just a quick question. How early do they send an invite to the next interview. A week in advance? Two weeks in advance?

I have an interview on 1/25 😀

Update: I applied! Hope to hear back soon. I know it is kind of late in the application process, so fingers crossed!

Where are you hoping to go? I noticed from other threads that we applied to many of the same schools

The interview went well. They only gave me 8 days notice of my interview, but I heard back almost immediately after I submitted, which was nice. I like that they only require you to pay the $75 supplemental fee if they are seriously considering you.

In terms of the actual interview day, it's an all day 8-3 interview that consists of a group activity, two faculty one on ones that were 10 mins each, a lunch with a few current students, a financial aid q&a and a tour. They give you an outline of this for this in the morning, too. The campus for all their programs is just one building with only two floors. They work hard to make you feel really comfortable when you get there. Eat breakfast before you come. They offer snacks in the beginning, but it's mostly chips. They provided lunch around 1, which was nice, but it was a light lunch, so I was still pretty hungry.

I'm hoping to go to University of St. Augustine (San Marcos). I also applied to University of Washington (Seattle), Touro and Midwestern-Glendale. I have an interview with USA on February 23rd!

Were you able to choose between dates? If so, what days of the week were they? I'm in California (SD) so I would need to commute out there.

Have you heard back from MWU Glendale yet? I have an interview there on 2/19. Good luck with your interview at USA!

Touro did not give me a choice between dates. They only do interviews on Thursdays. You will get a decision back within 2 weeks of your interview and then you will 2 weeks after that to put down a deposit to hold your spot if you get in.

Tell your professors in advance about a potential all day Thursday interview. Flights between California and Nevada are not that expensive. I worked all day Weds and then caught a 9pm flight to vegas. There was a 6pm flight option on Thursday after the interview that got me back to the east coast before work time on Friday. It's rough but doable.

Has anyone else received an acceptance yet? (MamabearOT is right that we should find out by tomorrow)
Also who is going for MOT and who's going for DOT?

Hey guys! Phew, what a day.. I just had my interview today... Good luck to all of you who are supposed to hear back tomorrow!

Congratulations!! Is Touro your top choice?
Unfortunately I was waitlisted : ( I think for my GPA..🙁
I really liked this school. I am thinking about it still. I live in NY so its going to be a pretty big move for me.

You’re welcome! About the interview..it was more comfortable than I thought it’d be, which was good. They really were organized with the setup which I liked.

I got accepted into the OTD program this morning 🙂!

I paid my deposit last week! Can’t wait to be in sunny Nevada
Ahh nice! You’ll like it here. Basically every season here feels perfect except for, of course, the summer heat. I’m actually from Las Vegas, but it’s funny, I went to college in New York, hah.

Just had my interview last Thursday!! Have anyone hear back yet?

Hey friends! I interviewed for the OTD program on 2/8 and just got my acceptance today. Can't wait to be in sunny Nevada.

Good luck to everyone else.

I was also interviewed on 2/8, but was waitlisted. However I declined my spot as I was accepted into USC, my first choice program 🙂
