Touro waitlist
Started by anh80
Hey anh,
I wouldn't be too bumbed about being in the waitlist for Touro. There's still going to be a lot of shuffling between schools. Some people may not accept Touro's offer and even some may end up paying the $2000 deposit and still end up going to another pharmacy program. They also mentioned on the interview that other people on the waitlist may even be given admissions for the following year. Which is pretty nice, you don't have to reapply and you have one year to relax.

waitlist? does that mean Touro's class is already full??
No, it just means that they're not sure if they want you yet until they interview more people. Mid-alternative is probably indicative that you should consider other schools as your top choices since its unlikely that your getting in. If you're on the high-alternative list, you have a much better chance of getting in. I remember Mr davis saying that if u'r on the high list, you have really good chance of getting in from the list. I doubt that is entirely true either since not many ppl on the high alt list from last year got pulled.
If it helps, i decided not to put down the touro deposit. That's actually one more seat open among the many seats that should still be open at this time.
i got placed on the waitlist 🙁 (mid alt). do u guys remember what mr. davis said about the chances of getting in for mid alt? i don't remember......i am sooooo bum.
im sorry to hear that. i havent heard from touro, but im waitlisted at 2 other schools and i know how you feel. but look on the flipside, there may be a chance and if you applied to other schools, then those are your additional chances too.. dont give up
Yeah, I didn't want to be the 1st to burst your bubble. But I was on he mid-alt list 2 yrs ago (for their charter class) and I had no chance. I had 2 friends who were high-alt that year and no luck for them either.
I would say high-alt has a decent chance this year since Touro's deposit is so high now. We've already seen a few people here who got accepted but probably won't go. Good luck either way.

Im curious, when exactly did they increase their deposit? How much was the deposit for you Eddie, when you applied two years ago?

hmm.. even last year (2nd year entering) was 2000, i dont think it really did change from the first year.
It was $1000 2 yrs ago.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard this year, it's $2k up front...then another $1k sometime around May for a total of $3000 before you even start school?
Is this true?
that's absolutely true. the 2k is non-refundable but the 1k is.
