So is this Harlem thing not going happen? I keep waiting for that AACOMAS Email and zip, zilch....All the other new ones happened. Man.............I don't even know who to ask. I'm so anxious.

what do you base that on? just curious. i read a transcript of board meetings etc for accredation, so not sure..

i've looked at the touro website and cannot find anything about it (with the exception of this). the fact that it isn't listed on here (atsu-mesa and dmu are on here--and this came out before we could apply to either of them) also makes me think it's not going to happen--at least not this year. suck.

was it listed before? I thought i had seen it before...or maybe i was hallucinating. let's hold a candle light vigil......oh geeeez someone out there has got to know. i just don't know who to ask...hmm i need to start poking around. i want to get to the bottom of this...they said 2007 damn it!

i found several legit and fairly recent (one from the end of sept) articles about it and also about a future touro med school in new jersey.

And I quote from the president of Touro college:

"If all of the approvals are forthcoming, he said the first class could start school in September 2007.

'I’ve gotten dozens of calls already, 'he said. 'The mission of the school is not that much different from Touro College — to service the whole community. And since there is a paucity of African Americans and Hispanics in medicine, one of our main efforts will be to recruit more minorities who want to serve minorities.'

To help increase the pool of qualified minority applicants, Rabbi Lander said he plans to have a specialized, one-year preparatory program at Touro College to help borderline students.

Asked how the school would treat applications from two equally qualified students, one who is black and one who is Jewish, Rabbi Lander said: “If one wants to go to Great Neck and practice plastic surgery and the other doesn’t mind serving minority communities,” the latter would be chosen.

'We’re going to try to give scholarships, too,' he added. 'Once we get established, we’ll go to the public schools and get [minority students] interested in science.' "

At my Touro-NV interview a few weeks ago they told us that there will be a Touro DO school in Harlem...but I thought not until next year.
