Hey everyone so I'm panicking a bit. I've taken 3 TPR tests so far and scored 499, 499, 498.

My last test (TPR 3) I scored 122/126/124/126 for a 498

The test before that (TPR 2) I scored 122/125/126/126 for a 499.

Have not taken the AAMC practice test yet. How difficult in comparison are the TPR tests? Are they harder than the real MCAT? Should my scores improve on the real thing based on anyone's experience?

thanks for anyone's advice on this matter.

Hey everyone, love you guys all on my TPR thread.

So I just took my AAMC today! 🙁 Would love some help trying to turn it into a score from you lot.

I felt the AAMC was pretty difficult on Physics and chem. PS were definitely different from the TPR tests in that the AAMC test puts everything in biological systems so it was hard to figure out what concepts they were getting at sometimes. AAMC definitely didn't seem as straightforward. Bio was really heavy on biochem, and a lot of really crazy experiments I had no idea what they were getting at. Again thought it was pretty tough in comparison to TPR. Actually kind of surprised I even got half the PS questions correct since it felt like I was guessing on everything.

CARS seemed way easier than the TPRs! I didn't feel like any of the passages were super difficult or strange, also seemed shorter length but maybe I'm imagining things. I finished w plenty of time there. Psych seemed pretty similar to TPR psych. Maybe a little bit more tricky but only marginally so. There were a few concepts they asked on the AAMC that I hadn't seen on any of the 5 TPR tests for psych but overall I was pleasantly surprised how similar it was in scope and style to the test prep company's.

So AAMC score: PS 49% correct, Cars 83%, Bio 61%, psych 80%. What score do you guys reckon this is? Am I way off compared to the other tests or is it similar.

TPR course tests in order 499, 499, 498, 503, 503.

Testing on Friday!

Edit: I just cross checked the scores. Apparently its about the same from my last two TPRs. Looks like my AAMC translates to a 123, 128, 125, 128. So Pretty much the same 504. Alright so I guess I wasn't way off today. Guess TPR is pretty accurate in comparison to the AAMC test.

I took this today as well. Your Psych and Cars are looking really good so feel good about that 🙂 Pesky PS being annoying again. At this point I would just review the C/P material and go over stuff that you find difficult on that and Bio especially concepts that might easily get mixed up. And I definitely agree with you about the concepts on Psych that I hadn't seen on TPR.

To be honest I would be happy scoring similar on the real test I just don't want to score lower.

do you think that the tpr fls prepared you well, after taking the actual mcat on friday?
testing next month and have been using those to study so i would love to hear your feedback!

Same I am also curious what you thought about the real thing in comparison to TPR. Also how did you do on the official guide/AAMC FL if you were able to squeeze those in as well?

@dka94 and @itsallgood92 I thought TPR was great practice (especially because they seemed harder than the real test). Definitely do a lot of practice tests to build up stamina leading up to the real test and make sure your pacing is good. I scored about the same on my AAMC FL compared to my last 2 TPR exams. I think the real test was a bit easier. Less calculation heavy for sure and more critical thinking.

While I did feel it was easier, for some reason my pacing wasn't as good compared to practice tests so even though I felt more accurate overall and more confident in my answers I was running out of time midway through the last passage on c/p, cars, and bio on the real test having to blind bubble the last question or two. Thats my only huge concern with regards to how i will do! 🙁 . The only section I finished completely w some time left over was psych.

It's especially frustrating because on c/p I ran out of time on the last FSQ and i immediately recognized the right answer and couldn't bubble it in in time. Luckily on bio I hit the last set of FSQs first before tackling the last passage and ran out of time on the last question of the last passage (also think I knew the answer and ran out of time trying to bubble it in 🙁

Did not do the official guide.

Good luck to you guys.
