Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone could clairify this question for me...

An objects specific gravity is 0 and volume is 0.5m3 is floating in a fluid of specific gravity of 2. What percentage of the objects volume lies above the surfact of the fluid?

correct answer is 80%.

The explanation on the test is not the least bit helpful.

I'd chalk that up to a typo. A specific gravity of 0 is infinitely light.

Think about it this way ... if 80% is above then 20% is below, 20% of 0.5m^3 is 0.1m^3 and that volume of a fluid with p=2 (assuming it's in kg/m^3) would weigh 0.2 kg. What is the specific gravity of the object? It's not zero from where I'm sitting.
