TPRH Science workbook vs TPR MCAT books on Amazon

Do the Amazon TPR books (for Bio, chem, etc.) have the same practice passages found in the TPR Hyperlearning Science workbook?

I don't have the TPR books at Amazon but I do have the TPRH Science Workbook.

Other SDNers may jump in to confirm. To my understanding, each TPR book e.g. Biology is ONLY content review plus quiz/exercise at the end of each chapter and a passage.

That applies to O-Chem, G-Chem & Physics.

The TPRH SW is a "passages book". The edition I have is 763 pages thick that contains 277 passages for (Bio, Phys, O-Chem, and G-Chem).

This is correct. The review books only have a few discretes and 1 passage per chapter, while the SW are strictly practice questions/passages. The newer edition of the book is closer to 1000 pages I think.

If you could choose between the 2007 set including Physical science review, bio review, verbal and writing, in-class compendium, verbal workbook and science workbook

Or the newest 3 book set, hyperlearning verbal, in class and science workbook which would you choose?

I would NOT get the in-class compendium unless you are taking a TPR class, as it doesn't have explanations for its answers -- just lists them. Being as they are problems that are explained in class.

For review, so far I love all the TPR books. Great format, great diagrams, aesthetically pleasing (I know it shouldn't be a big deal, but it sort of matters that the pages look nice if you are going to be staring at them for several hours a day.. That's one thing I hate about TBR is that they are super ugly). I think that the SWB and VWB problems are rather challenging, but they are good. I've only taken one AAMC test, but I feel that TPR's material is harder than what was on my AAMC test. But not absurdly harder.

I would recommend any/all of these books 🙂
