Do majority of students attend med school right after college? Are there way more traditional students than non traditional students?

When looking at age of matriculating students, age 22 is the mode (most common age). If you assume that anyone under 22 is coming right out of college, it might be considered a sizable minority if not the majority of new first year medical students.

When looking at proportion admitted by age, age 22 has the best odds, too.

That said, I feel as if I am seeing more an more interviewees who have taken a year or more off to do research or full-time service or who had a different career before doing a post-bac.
