Ok, I can't tell whether or not you're being facetious, FlighterDoc, but I'm trying to be serious. I wasn't just trying to stir up trouble. I think it's a legitimate concern for us "little kids."

so become a non-trad and your issue is solved

I have been reading this thread for several days and I have found it to be quite comical because I feel just the opposite. I feel like the trad students have an advantage over me (non-trad). Trust me, it is easier to continue your studies than to restart them. Well, good luck to everyone applying!

I am very mature actually!!! I don't have the right to pass judgement on anyone, I am just making a comment that I KNOW to be true. And that is: overweight individuals are discriminated against in Corporate America, Medical School admissions etc etc. There are exceptions to this, of course as is always. But those exceptions tend to be the 38T MCAT and 3.9 GPA with diverse experience.

Would you like to go to an overweight physician that advocates dieting and a healthy lifestyle?

Now, being overweight doesn't necessarily mean that you are unhealthy in certain cases. But it usually is. I didn't say that it is right to discriminate based on weight.

You know what I think is so funny? You guys make hilarious comments about how I will treat my professors, attendings, nurses, and peers in the future...as if I am that ******ed to call my professor stupid or the nurses around me ignorant even if I think that they are wrong. No, it's is more like "Of course you are correct Professor X/Nurse Y, brilliant work on that case. I wish I possessed the acumen to make such judgements but I am only but a meager medical student"
And then to my peers it is like "Look dumba** quit screwing around and get you **** together"

LOL

If Big Momma has lots of medically related experiences below her rather large belt..then I don't think that she has anything to worry about. I think that DO schools will actually look favorably toward massage therapy because it encompasses their hollistic approach to medicine. 👍

Oh please. Do you really think that things are dished out to you so easily and obviously in real life? It's all about nuances and subtleties. Developing political acumen and savvy takes time and experience. You have to develop an instinct for how to treat people. Rub them the right way and your life is easier. Rub them the wrong way and you're screwed. Remember that the practice of medicine requires many participants, i.e., nurses, medical students, residents, attendings, adminstrators, etc. Any of these people can make your life a living hell, especially if they're above you.

I am very mature actually!!! 😍 That is self evident!

😍 Your discrimatory attitude is not in accord with the values of a physician. Discrimation against diabetics because they are over weight.

Now, being overweight doesn't necessarily mean that you are unhealthy in certain cases. But it usually is.
😍 Having cancer also means you are unhealthy, do you discriminate against patients with cancer also?

as if I am that ******ed to call my professor stupid or the nurses around me ignorant even if I think that they are wrong.
😍 Why is everyone else so ignorant compared to you?

And then to my peers it is like "Look dumba** quit screwing around and get you **** together"
😍 I might be able to simply dismiss your attitude as elitist if you were going to Harvard or even a top 50medical school, but it is very evident that you are just ignorant!

If Big Momma has lots of medically related experiences below her rather largebelt.. !!!!!Just another muture statement by indebt4life!!!!
Is there any other students out there who were accepted to medical school with a 3.8gpa and a 33MCAT who have diabetes and are slightly heavier than your average Victoria Secret Model? I hope medical schools don't descriminate against well qualified applicants because they suffer from a medical condition that over 16million americans have, type 2 diabetes.

😍 If having real professional experience with patients is more important to DO schools than MD school, I think I would much rather go to a DO school than an MD school. Hopefully they will have enough room for my fat butt. Hopefully I won't get winded walking to lunch from the lecture hall. 😍

Thanks for the encouragement though!! 😍

Go Canes, the best football program money, drugs, and sex can buy.

If you do in fact have a 3.8 GPA and 33T MCAT and some kind of medical experience, then you should apply to Allopathic. You could probably get into UTenn, Meharry or better. Good luck. I wouldn't tell the admissions committee you suffer from Diabetes though but there is another thread that discusses that issue.
Go Canes!!! 👍
