I am having a serious panic attack.

I applied somewhat hastily last year and submitted transcripts only from those schools where I got degrees and did my prereqs. Perhaps it is best I did not get in, because going through the process again and reading things more carefully, I realize that I needed to submit even those transcripts from places where I took classes to prepare for my other degree (totally unrelated to science or medicine).

Some schools will keep transcripts for reapplicants, and I imagine they will be date stamped to reflect last year's cycle. But if I submit the others now, for this year's cycle, for work done several years ago, I am worried that I will look like a fraud and the omission from last year will be held against me. On the other hand, not submitting them at all this year would be truly fraudulent.

It was an honest mistake, but has the potential of making me look terrible and worse, keeping me from getting in.

Any advice?

Just send them all in. Then there is no reason to look at old ones. Don't worry about it, just do it right this time and you'll be ok. The mistake last time was in good faith. Now that you know, you have the opportunity to correct it.

Thanks for your encouragement. I really need it!

My worry, though, is that some schools have agreed to keep my transcripts from last time. So they are only expecting new transcripts from classes taken in the past year. When one of the "new" transcripts they get is from coursework from long ago, especially after they've already reviewed my file once, won't a red flag go up?

I don't flatter myself to think that out of the zillions of applications they read every year, mine will somehow stick out in their minds (although it would be nice if it did, but for more positive reasons!), but the timeline thing (i.e. getting a "new" transcript for my second round which is, in fact, not so new) is what freaks me out.

I don't really know much about vet school admissions, as I'm still an undergrad student, but from what I've heard so far on these boards, most admissions offices are, in general, very understanding. It seems that if they do see it and you explained the situation, they wouldn't hold it against you. But I'm not entirely sure, so don't go just by what I say.

This seems a little sneaky, but what you could do is call an admissions office and ask them about what they would do in that situation, without giving your full name. If they're totally ok with it, then just let them know who you are and what happened.
