Transcript to Columbia with secondary?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yeah, i don't know about that...do you think it's because they weren't on AMCAS last year and haven't updated?

That's what I think. In the section about what to do next, there's no mention of a transcript. Thank god, that would be a pain.

I sent them transcripts ... I figure it couldn't hurt since I got good grades in the spring that weren't on my AMCAS.

I emailed admissions about that a month or so ago and they said they still do require transcripts and to enter in all your classes. So the only difference this year is we have to pay an extra $30 to AMCAS. Good work Columbia

I just called the admissions office, they said you don't have to send in a transcript (unless your dual degree). Its only your final transcript you need to send (like most med schools).

Also, you won't be able to check whether your file is complete until about three weeks because they're still working on last year's applications and are not starting this year's until then.

Ummm... so should i send official transcripts? I've been trying to call the school, but nobody picks up.

no u don't have to send your transcripts

I think what An Yong means is if you have new grades which are not reflected on AMCAS, then you should send in your final transcript. Otherwise, the transcripts sent to AMCAS are sufficient. Right?

Lol, I'm sorry I'm a horrible writer, no wonder I got an M on the MCAT. What I meant was that you don't need to send in a transcript unless your accepted, upon which you have to send in your final transcript... this is the same for almost all medical schools I believe. Otherwise, you do not have to send in official transcripts unless your applying for dual degree programs (MD/MBA, MD/PhD, etc.)... if you are applying to these you'll have to call the office because I didn't really inquire about it.

Yea I called the admissions and apparently their instructions are a little out of date. For the transcripts, you will only have to submit your transcript directly to the school after you've been accepted OR if you are applying for the MD/PHD program. They also said that to ignore the MCAT score report since they get that directly from AMCAS. You still have to fill in your course schedule tho I think. 🙁

Have any of you actually received an invitation to fill out a Columbia secondary? If so, when?

So, what is the official word, from the mouth of the admissions office? For the M.D. secondary, do we need to send our transcripts as part of the application?
