hey guys. I searched this question, and most answers were sketchy..

My spring grades probaby won't be up till the first week of June, but I was planning on submitting my application near opening day ~may 15th.

should i submit my application to AADSAS earlier without these spring grades, or should I wait till june? Will the schools require this grade be updated before making their desicion?

It sounds like it takes AADSAS several weeks to send stuff to the school, and I could definetely use the early submit advantage.

Thanks!

Just submit the application now. You can always send the transcripts later. It's good to get the ball rolling on the whole AADSAS process ASAP.

but doesn't AADSAS require the transcript to consider my file complete?

yes, but im saying just send the transcript as it is right now (w/o spring grades)...you can always send an updated transcript later on in the summer once your grades are posted.

alright. and then i'd have to send the transcripts to each school individually?

would this affect the overall GPA and the sgpa that aadsas has already calculated? Let's say they calculated your gpa and you got a 3.6 w/o spring grades, then then you send in your spring grades will they recalculate that and resubmit the new calculated gpa to all the schools again?

actually once AADSAS has the first transcipt you give them...thats it. You wont be able to change your aadsas app until the academic update window in january. However, you will be able to send updated transcripts to each individual school and they can do what they want with it. In fact, Michigan and UDM asked for official transcripts even though the AADSAS verification process was supposed to take care of that...

Yeah, I'm in the same boat and I also have something to add. I went to Comm. Coll. then transfered to a Uni. The thing is I won't get my grades until June 15. So should I submit my app. around June 1 with everything including my Coll. transcript but without my Uni. transcript, then send in my Uni. transcript after grades are posted. Will AADSAS thinks that I only have Coll. transcript and start processing my app. and won't accept my Uni. transcript? or will AADSAS wait and accept my Uni. transcript before processing grades and sending out the app.? Thank a bunch guys.

I was thinking you can put in the grades you're expecting to get in your classes on AADSAS application then wait till June to send in your transcript. Once AADSAS receives your transcript they will adjust the grades you report on the application and your actual grades. Does that work?

I think people are getting a little carried away with the applying early thing. Yes it is very important to apply early but June is still considered early. If you apply before July I think you are doing just fine. So the real question you have to ask yourself is will these spring grades boost my GPA or lower my GPA. If it will boost it, then wait a couple weeks and send in your transcripts immediatly when they come in. If they will not help or may look bad then send in that app. asap. You may also be able to track down the proffessors that you don't have your grades in yet, tell them your situation, and see if they can tell you what your grades will be before they are posted. If they are not A-holes, they will tell you and you can apply even earlier and you will only have to wait to send the transcripts.

ok but if ppl apply without spring grades, they may not have 90 credits to submit info on. Don;t you need to have 90 credits to apply??

I'm pretty sure its 90 units by the time of matriculation.

Essentially I agree with here, it's not mandatory to submit on June 1st to have a shot, but realize that late June/early July is when the number of applications being submitted to AADSAS is going to peak, so waiting a few weeks to submit will ultimately cost you an extra month or two for AADSAS to calculate your GPA (which I'm convinced is done by completely by abacus) and send it out to the schools. If I were in the position where I had to choose between submitting on June 1st or thereabouts without spring grades and waiting till July so I could include those grades, I would pick the earlier submission in a heartbeat. For one, at this point in your college career, one semester of grades probably won't significantly alter your GPA. Also, as several other people have mentioned, you can always just send the updated transcript to the schools as soon as you get it. Odds are it will beat your application to the school.

And yes, you only need 90 units and your pre-reqs done by the time you matriculate, not by the time you apply.
