Well, I am at Florida Int University and I want to transfer to a better school, something up north... I was thinking Boston Univ, or Boston College... I have a few in mind... but I think my SAT´s are not the best... but my college grades are so far above 3.0...

Well, the main question is, would it be wise to retake the SATs? just to transfer to another college? is this normally done by college students who need better SAT scores to transfer?....

Please give me some advise if possible

Is it even possible to take the SAT's again once you've graduated from high school??? 😕

Generally you do not retake the SATs. They will care almost exclusively about your grades because they reflect how you have performed in a real college environment already.

i agree with logos.
i think you'd be better of working your ass off in florida and pulling a nice gpa, instead of compromising your grades when you transfer.
as long as you're happy in florida, i mean.

Alot of schools make it optional in sending SAT scores as a transfer. I think BU might be one of these schools. If not... there are plently of really good schools out there that do not require SAT scores for transfer students.

Okay, one of the things you really need to realize is that it gets really cold up here in the northeast. REALLY COLD. FREEZE YOUR BUTT OFF COLD. If you're from Florida and have lived there all your life, I would definitely take climate into consideration. The other thing is finances. I don't really think that it matters all that much which undergraduate institution you came from (and all the ivys are going to jump down my throat for saying this)-- if your gpa is strong and you do well on the mcats, you've got as good a shot as anyone of getting into med school.

Being where you are, you know the curriculum, and you know what to expect. What happens if you transferred to BU and your grades dropped? Not good my friend, not good at all. BU is also kinda pricey.

I thought about transferring to another college for quite a while, but does the college matter so much in the end? I think that it's better to just put all of your energy into getting the highest GPA and the best clinical and volunteer experiences possible in order to be as competitive as you can be WITHOUT going to a new college and having to start over. Why are you transferring to those colleges anyway? For prestige?

Well, all of you guys have a point and are right about what you say... but well I have been planning to move from Florida because I want to try something different... Dont get me wrong, I love Miami but I want to go somewhere else and live there too while I go to school you know... But well, I would do this either next fall or 2007 spring.. I'm a freshman...
