Transferring and Transcripts

I'm in an interesting situation. I recently transferred to US school from the Caribbean. I had completed a lot of cores and electives during my 3rd year, but because of my transfer I had to redo my 3rd year. I was wondering how residency programs view my transcripts. Do they ignore my "old" clinical grades and I pretty much start on a clean slate or do they do some sort of weird gpa calculation? I understand they will see my basic science grades from the old school.

There really isn't any such thing as a GPA in medical school. Each school has it's own grading system, many are now P/F. PD's will really only care about your clinical US 3rd year, that's what will count the most, as well as your USMLE's. You'll be fine, you'll be seen as a USMG.
