I'm transferring, but I have a question about how GPA works with transfer. All of my AB's got changed to B's, MEANING my GPA drops from a 3.75 to a 3.54 at the new university 🙁 . So, when I submit my transcripts, will the classes that I transferred for credit be counted from the university I am transferring from, the one I am transferring to, or a combination of both?

Thanks...

I would guess that they go by where the class was originally taken, although I definitely am not sure.

Why does the school you're transferring to drop them to Bs? Do they not have B+s or A-s?

One of my grades on AMCAS got changed to 'AB' so I'd enter it as that if that's how it shows up on the original transcript. If they change it on you, you have a little bit of time where you can challenge it and find out why/see if they'll change it back

AMCAS will look at and enter the grades from each college attended.

Not sure how AMCAS reconciles that grading system you describe, though.

Whatever you do, use the AMCAS help phone in May - they are very helpful with questions like this. It is tempting to email them questions, but that takes forever...
