Hello,

I am heavily considering transferring to another school this fall, a slightly more competitive state school as opposed to my Private School. Would this disadvantage me for any future applications? I would transfer in as a Sophomore, but as long as I keep a good GPA, I should be fine? I just can't stand living where I live now. I would be giving up my research, but for my personal sanity I think it would be best for me. My major would change from B.S. in History to B.A. in History, but would still have the same pre-med courses to my knowledge.

Thanks for any advice you all can provide!

Won't be a problem. I transferred after my second year and it worked out fine. I would however just check that you'll be able to complete your degree within 4 years. When I transferred there were a lot of "core" classes that I needed to take at my new university and I had to add another semester because of it
