Can anyone recommend some med schools that more easily accept transfer students (after 2nd year)? I?m attending a really expensive med school in Chicago and am looking into transferring for various reasons.
Anyone know anything about the schools in Texas, Florida, or Wisconsin? (I'm not a resident of either of those states, but figured I?d give it a shot!)
Thanks!

I attend UW-Madison and we got a transfer student added to our class for our second year. It happens here every 2-3 years, I guess, but usually the transfers occur for third year, not second.

Doubt you will have a chance, unless you marry someone who is in moving their for residency.

the only method i have heard about transfering (each time was to stanford) was via marriage. you marry/get engaged to someone at that program.

I got this from Stanford's website.

Student Transfer Policy
In order to be considered for transfer into the medical school at Stanford University, students must meet all the following criteria:

1. Must be married to, or be the domestic partner of, a Stanford medical student or graduate student, a Stanford housestaff officer, or a Stanford faculty member, in the School of Medicine.

2. Must be transferring from an LCME accredited school.

3. Must have the written approval and support of the Dean of the transferring institution.

4. Must have passed step 1 of the USMLE licensing exam if transferring in as a clinical student.

Students who believe they meet the above criteria should submit a letter to the Dean of Admissions stating the reason for the requested transfer. Any student requesting to transfer in their 2nd or 3rd clinical year will be considered only for acceptance as a Visiting Student. No more than 4 transfer students will be accepted in any academic year.
