Can someone please pass this on to the suits up top:
This site makes doing transfers from Walgreens to CVS much easier.
You don't have to call, you don't have to sit on hold for 2 hours, etc...
I have already tried giving this to my DM but all she is concerned about is alphabet soup performance measures.

GET THIS UP ON RXNET NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's no secret that there is a new way to transfer rx. It is good if you are transferring a lot of drugs. For one or two transfers, the old way is better. I've used the new method. You have to have quite a lot of store info for it to work.

Website says it can only be used in Florida. Seems like a cool idea, but I sort of like it when the other pharmacist warns me about the patient that is transferring too.

That's the special one which can only be used in FL. I've used it here in WI with no problems. You put in the information about the transferring pharmacy. If you put in the fax number, it will fax the info. If you don't, it assumes a verbal transfer. You then put in the rx number and patient's birthdate. A list of rx will be made, and when done, you press transfer. You'll then get a confirmation message and it will close out the rx in intercom plus. It is in storenet under rx administration.

It works in California too. They should add to the program by having the computer save the other pharmacy's info so you don't have to put it in every time. The other pharmacies love it because only the needed info is there.

Given your concern and that I use the site regularly, you can't transfer any controls through Transfersafe, so that is good.

I will say that us is very convenient, all you need is rx number and the patient's DOB. Is is down quite a bit, but it beats the hell out of calling the stores. At least here in FL since when you call the store you actually get transfered to a call center and it takes 10 minutes before you actually get to talk to a pharmacist.

Often I get to a pharmacist and tell them I need a transfer and they transfer me to the transfering pharmacist, WTF???? I dont know why any pharmacist would want to work like that. That much school to sit in a cube and transfer scripts all day....shoot me in the face.

Does anyone know if it works in Texas?

It definitely works in Texas. However, it is currently "against the law" to do so. This system is only legal in Texas when it is in a state of emergency. Even then, many pharmacists are still doing this since the Walgreens automated system tells them to do so. It's pretty interesting to say the least.

Calling a Florida Walgreens for transfers is fun. The first time I called it took forever to finally get to a Pharmacist to do the transfer. The next time I called I told the person who answered that I need to talk to the Pharmacists and I wasn't giving anyone any information except the Pharmacist. It greatly cut down on the time for the transfer.

We just got noticed that the TXBOP approved the website.

Wow, that was fast. I just sat in on the managers' meeting last week and the supervisor said that we couldn't use this website.
Got em do you work for CVS? Because yesterday I asked my Sup about it she said we couldn't use it and it wasn't approved by TXBOP than we got an email today saying the Board approved it and it's on Rxnet- yes it was fast.
