I have been a premed student at the university of massachusetts and after shadowing and volunteering and participating in a lot of premedical activities such as hartford homeless clinic, etc, i have come to realize that med is not for me. I want something more hands on and have thought about dentistry when i was in high school but i was never really exposed to it in college because there were no opportunities for predental students.
How did all you predental students get dental experience?
Also, if i am transitioning to become predental, should i get all my recommendation letters now because ill be graduating from college next year as a materials engineer, so in case i decide to work a couple years and then apply i will not have to worry about LOR..is this a smart approach? Also, should i list all my premed activities like shadowing a cardiosurgeon or is this not appropriate or looked down upon? would i ever have to explain why i transitioned from premed to predental?
any advice is appreciated
