I'll be transitioning to anesthesia from a pgy-1 prelim year after failing to match into a different specialty in the 2020 cycle. One of my first electives will be anesthesia and I'm wondering what I can read/ brush up on before starting my rotation. I'll need to get a few letters of rec during my month of anesthesia and I want to make sure I am semi-competent on the first day I show up. Any advise ?

I liked NMS anesthesia but its old and probably not easy to find.

Stanford CA-1 guide is also very helpful and easy to read. I would recommend this before you start reading the baby miller.

Honestly. Anesthesia secrets is very easy and short. Exceptionally high yield.
