I have an externship scheduled at USC in L.A. in November, and was wondering if a car is definitely required there. Is public transport used at all? Any other options? I'm trying to convince myself that I don't need to drive my car from Miami, so any info is greatly appreciated.

You're definitely going to need a car in LA!

Public transportation in L.A...

Why would you need to drive from Miami? Just rent a car when you get here.

Also, some LAC+USC services also have outpatient clinics away from the medical center. If you're on one of those services, you'll be expected to get to those clinics one way or another.

I just did a rotation there (LA County/USC Medical Center) in August. I rented a car, was only $14/day (through Dollar). Definitely needed it, since I lived 20-30 minutes away.
