Transporting Your Car - Advice Please!

Started by now2010
This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The cheapest way is probably to drive it yourself and attach a Uhaul trailer to also haul your stuff. Movers are very expensive.

So I have to transport my car across country and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with any particular companies! I've been diligently searching online for the past few days and a lot of posts are from 4-5 years ago, with little follow through. I appreciate any advice or comments. Thanks!

So this may come off mean but in all seriousness ... Can't you drive it?

This question is best asked at fatwalletdotcom. I recommend you casually drive cross country to visit relatives, the national parks, football stadiums, etc. You will never have another chance like that until you retire 50 years from now.

(786) 314-6233 Willy

He is based out of Florida but does a cross country every 2 weeks.

I used him when I moved to vegas from florida. Cheapest price I found.

Tell him you heard of him through Bryce (Old white monte carlo with the 350) in Las Vegas. He transported my car last year. He should remember me.

I can understand why you dont want to drive its a f****in horribly long, boring drive(especially Texas). I did it once and I will never do it for the rest of my life(knock on wood).

I've shipped a car and going to ship one this year.

Red Carpet Auto Transport, shipping is reasonable and service is great.

Shipped from NC to OH $350
Shipping from OH to AZ for about $750

According to this website, I just used it to give me a price estimator from zip code 85003(AZ) to 33301 (FL).... cost = $1000

Facial expression = ouch 😱

I think its time to load up a 24 pack of redbull and prepare for the long drive.

Hey you're just like me! I'm making the move from AZ to FL in July to attend Nova. I'm just going to sell my car here and either buy or lease another one in Florida. Just seemed like the best solution to me because my current car isn't very nice and it didn't seem worth it to spend a whole lot on shipping it.

Hey all! I wanted to post a follow-up. Since I've never used an auto carrier before, I was extremely skeptical and nervous but it was all fine in the end. I used a local carrier that a classmate referred me to. It cost around $800 and Sophia from all american auto transport was extremely helpful. Their trucks mainly go to and from Cali and AZ but she only charged a broker fee of $25 to find me another truck. Their phone numbers are 602-400-2222 and 818-572-6092. Normally, a broker fee is around $150. One of my friends used Angels Moving Autos and said they were reliable and she was able to ask the broker fee to be lowered to I think $50? Hope this helps SDN-ers in the future! 🙂 Thanks for everyone's help and input too!
