Hey guys! I've been looking through alot of the travel PT threads on here and as a second year student, I'm extremely interested. The only question I couldn't find an answer to was about travel assignments. I'm interested in having different assignments at different clinics, I just don't think I want to travel out of state. Has anyone heard of being a contract therapist but just staying in their home state or within a short drive? For reference, I'm wanting to stay in the Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky area. Thanks in advance!

In my area (NC), there are smaller travel companies that seem to cater to only a few states like NC/SC/TN. I am sure you can find the same kind of companies where you are. It may take some digging though, since they are smaller companies they're probably not as well-known or don't advertise as heavily as the big ones.

According to this guy's presentation, there are travel companies that allow you to only work in 1 state...I'm definitely thinking about travel PT too as I have no family obligations and love to travel. The higher salary is just an added bonus

You can just work for a staffing agency which is in essence the same thing as traveling but staying in a confined area

I do travel PT and I only travel in Ohio. My company gets a lot of contracts in Ohio. You can definitely make this happen if you are open to different settings and different areas within Ohio. To get the tax free benefits, you'll have to list a permanent tax home.

Hi, I am a current PT student interested in travel PT in the Ohio area someday. Would you mind if I PM you with some questions?
