So I just got a Treo 700 for my birthday and I'm totally shocked and psyched. I'm planning on using it for EVERYTHING. Any recommendations for programs? Anyone have any links to schools who have good PDA websites? Anyone have any advice in general on the Treo? Anyone use patient trackers on Medicine?

And for fun, 😀 I just dug up a review on this nifty Treo specific earphones. Are these a waste of money or totally awesome?

Congrats on the treo, I have a 650 and love it.

Programs I have on it.

Epocrates Essentials (Pharm and 5MCC database all in one program also has a lab interpretation program)
Archimedes
Hopkins Antibiotic guide (free alternative to Sanfords which costs money on PDA I beleive)
Dorlans med dictionary (good when you are reading literature and run into that one word you can't seem to remember or never knew to begin with)

Supermemo - great tool for memorizing minute details.

Essentials you have to pay for, right? And AMSA/SDN discounts out there?

I LOVE this 700, it's addictive!!!

Only thing is that battery is kinda iffy, any insight?

google a program called "erecs" for patient tracker info.

also check out www.treocentral.com for lots more treo stuff.

Anyone have info on the next release for Treos (i guess 750?)

Im hoping to stick with Verizon, but their Smartphone packages are rediculously expensive in terms of monthly fee to access the network.

I've been eyeing the treo but I'm wondering whether it's better to wait till next year when med school actually starts. I could use it now considering I travel that much as a consultant. But man verizon's service plan is expensive esp with EV-DO.

Do ya'all recommend 700p or 700w?

I bet alot of SDNers are Treonauts lol

Is there a PDA/mobile version of SDN??

-tx

yes, if you sign on via your treo's web browser it'll convert SDN into mobile format.

Just to give you an update - I got the Treo 700wx and am going with Sprint. Still trying to figure this puppy out so any advice/tips welcome.

I'm thinking of picking up a PQI 2GB SD Card (~$20), and probably the new GPS with TomTom 6 (~$300). The latter is more than what I'd like to spend. I could save some $$ by going with the older version...but...must have brand spanking new ...
