Tried 3 times to get this question put into the non-trads forum - ONLINE DEGREES

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Until now, I'd forgotten why I'd stopped visiting these boards. I think if one wants encouragement, he or she should look elsewhere.

That being said, I am 43 and start medical school in July. I was accepted to Texas Tech's Paul L. Foster School of Medicine (as well as four other schools.) I also received a full four year scholarship. And guess what? Some of my undergraduate and graduate courses were completed on line!

No one EVER questioned me about it, nor do I believe there is anything in my transcript to indicate the courses were distance education classes. These classes were treated as any other by my institution and medical school.

Other things to note: I did not have a perfect GPA. I did not have a perfect MCAT. I did not do undergraduate research. I am not a disadvantaged student nor an underrepresented minority. And yet, I still got in.

It can be done. I am proof.

👍 Thanx for the encouragement. With regard to your first two sentences, well, I have to say, based on some number of posts here, well yep. You make a good point. I don't get why some folks are without support for others--physicians or nurses or alllied health folks.
