Not sure if this has already been discussed, I didn't see a related topic, but this is quite funny.

I was driving through the Provo/Orem area in Utah the other day and saw a giant billboard saying "Heath Hendrickson of Wisdom Teeth Only is NOT an Oral Surgeon."

It seems there is some fierce competition in that region...

I saw that too. Hahaha. I give props to the wisdom teeth only guys. I have been to that office to shadow another dentist, and they don't advertise themselves as anything more that general dentist that do a lot of wisdom teeth. Those other dentists get mad that they are doing so many surgeries because they payed for more school that the wisdom teeth only guys didn't. They have a great system there. Very good business and marketing campaigns to. Wisdom teeth only has a general dentist that feels very comfortable pre forming them all, so props to them.

I wonder how the OMFS guys will keep general dentists from further incursion into their territory / scope of practice.

Bold move by the OMFS guys. The highest performing general dentists whom I know have always advocated heavy use of CE to market yourself not as a specialist, but to put yourself in the position to perform on the level as a specialist. I'm sure this Wisdom Tooth Only guy has sufficient training for the procedures he accepts and is laughing at this campaign all the way to the bank.
