Trouble getting LOR's

I have been out of school for a little over a year now and I don't have any kind of contact with any of my old teachers. I know that med schools either like a committee letter or 3 letters from teachers. I don't think I can get either of those. What should I do?

when are you planning on apply? are there additional classes you are going to take?

I am actually planning on going to an accelerated BSN program before I apply (I have applied once and did not get accepted). I did not think that med schools would want LOR's from my nursing instructors.

am i understanding this right? you're applying to med schools in the later future, after finishing an accelerated BSN program?

i'm not sure what med schools would think about LORs from nursing instructors. i did not ask any of my nursing instructors, but i did also have 2 years of pre-reqs that i needed to complete post-bacc. one of my letter writers is a professor i had several years back, but i did very well in the course and was an active participant so he remembered me and my plans to go to med school

Can you not get LORs from physicians you shadow? Managers/Lead of volunteer positions you've been in?

I appreciate all of the advice from everybody! It is true that I am going to a nursing program before I apply again, but the reason being because I have no more pre-reqs to take and I am hoping to gain experience in the medical field in general. I was hoping that I could make it a point to let adcoms know that my goal this whole time is to be a physician, and the only reason I became a nurse is to better my GPA and to get better experience.

While all of us may have some selfish motivation for going to medical school, I feel like your approach will appear a little disingenuous by adcoms and it would be hard to explain this.

I do have my reasons for wanting to become a physician, and that is my goal. I will continue to try until I get accepted. Are there any better options for the near future to better my application? My cGPA is around a 3.1 or so and I was not sure I could get into a masters program with that.
