Really sad and tragic. So the nurse anesthetist just gave anesthesia and then walked away? Criminal negligence

For the sake of patient safety I’m glad the horrendous record of that nurse anesthetist was mentioned. But the real question is was the nurse sued?

****, just like cops who shoot/kill innocent people, that CRNA should NEVER be allowed to practice anesthesia ever again...and should probably be brought up on criminal charges.

yeah it's in the private forum. the case is truly sad.

I'm not sure the details was totally accurate/known. We won't really know what happened.

Also the last thread turned pretty political pretty fast....

Truly sad. Not a failure of knowledge or a failure of skill. This is just a failure of a persons integrity and character. Not being political. I dont care who you are, CRNA or anesthesiologist, if you leave a patient unattended you are damned responsible for the outcome and should be crucified in both civil and criminal court. This is reckless and wanton endangerment leading to death. Rex Meeker should go to prison. The surgeon knew what was going on. He should get more than a slap on the wrist he should also be brought up on criminal charges.

i was going over with a med student some basic lectures i had saved from residency, and I had forgotten that the first and most important monitor for anesthesia is having a qualified anesthesia personnel present. sad case and gross negligence.
