Hi, I'm a pre-med college student working on a school project for one of my classes and I'm trying to better understand doctors who end up using their hands a lot (particularly ophthalmologists in this case) and perhaps what problems they face. I'm hoping you guys can help me out a little. Below are just some questions I came up with. Feel free to answer all or just a couple of the questions! Can be short responses, doesn't have to be long at all! Any input is very much welcomed and appreciated!

1) Do you work in a hospital or private practice?

2) What is/are your biggest worries and concerns for your specific profession?

3) At your workplace, who generally makes the decisions to purchase new medical equipment? What are the main factors that they consider when deciding what to purchase?

4) Is wrist/hand/arm fatigue a common occurrence? If so, how do you deal with it and in what ways do you try to reduce the stress?

5) About how many malpractice suits do you (or your department/specialty) get per year? What are the biggest reasons for why these suits arise? (e.g. does wrist fatigue contribute to being more error-prone during surgeries?, etc)

6) Is carpal tunnel a big concern? Do you ever fear it may reduce the lifetime of your career?

7) Any other comments? (e.g. any grievances you may have about your profession?)

If for any reason you don't feel comfortable answering any of these questions, feel free to leave them out or you can always PM me your responses! Regardless, thanks in advance for all the help!
