I am trying to start a subcommittee in AED known as the Primary Care Committee (PCC). PCC will set up information tables in which information regarding primary care will be distributed to students. Also, PCC will help organize a primary care guest speaker to speak at the college. The AED officers have told me that simply organizing a guest speaker is not enough to establish PCC (this is before coming up with the idea of having information tables). Does anyone have any other suggestions regarding what PCC could do that AED doesn't already do?

As someone who has started many clubs in the past, I understand how difficult getting approval may be. AED (at least at my school) doesn't really do much... just speakers, often a Kaplan or Princeton representative to talk about MCAT prep, etc. If you guys have health fairs or stuff at school, then you could mention PCC's involvement in that. I hate to say it though, but I really can't imagine your PCC idea being that popular... it sounds like it'll die very quickly.

If you really want to innovate, start a medical journal club as part of AED. Meet once every 2 weeks to discuss ethical issues in medicine, new breakthroughs, etc. It's not too hard to set up.
