can someone suggest what color shirt under the suit jacket, for a girl, I should wear or not to wear for the interview??

I think blue or yellow would be a nice color 🙂 But I don't have either of those, so I will probably end up wearing a white shirt...

Hi Guys-

I JUST turned in my secondary app for this school, after reconsidering. I have gained admission to an MD program in the US, but decided I wanted to consider this school (if at all still possible), because I really, really want to live in the bay area.

I have competitive stats:
11,11,11 Q MCAT
3.41 Cum GPA

What do you think? Are they still interviewing; will they still consider me?

Very likely they will more than consider you. They will probably admit you.

I interviewed at Touro CA on the 29th and right now im trying to decide between the Touro CA and Touro NV...i seem to be having a hard time since i have a few friends that are currently second years at the NV program and i felt like the CA campus was quite isolated. Anyone have any input on this? im having a hard time deciding.

And is anyone on here on facebook? i created a group of Class of 2012

I am hoping that my application will be approved at the preliminary screening and I will receive a secondary application. Touro-CA states it pre-approves applicants prior to sending secondary applications out. Because I am late in the application process, although I have an invite to DMU already, I would like to work on the Secondary in advance so if I receive it I can send it back immediately. Touro CA appeals to me a great deal. Can anyone help? What are the questions? Any essays - any unique questions or essays? Is there a link to the Supplemental Application?

Hi mjmj-

Which snail mail are you referring to? The secondary invite, interview invite, or acceptance? I think I received the secondary invite about 2 weeks after my application was submitted to Touro. My interview invite was another two weeks or so after my application was complete. Finally, my acceptance letter was about 10 days after my interview. Touro gives notification within two weeks of interviews.

I do indeed live in the bay area. You?

Does anyone know if they still interview for spots in the class or waitlist? And how late is too late to send them the letters of rec?
 
I interviewed there this week and they said that will still be interviewing until March. There are still seats available, but your chances are slim as the class gets filled up...So get in the letters quickly.
 
does anyone know how TUCOM MI rank their wait listed applicants? I am on the wait list and thinking of retaking MCAT. but is it really needed? does anyone have any suggestions?

They rank them high, middle and low. You have a good chance if you are in the high group.

does anyone know what the passing percentage is for first-time comlex takers at tucom? i tried to look for it on the website, but couldn't find any info...
 
i am talking to my cousin right now who is an optho retina specialist. He has a Touro grad doing some rounds with him before he starts his optho residency. Only 13 spots available!

My application is complete over one week and I have 31Q MCATS, 3.5 GPA, good EC's, LOR's, work with DO's etc. How long should it take to get notification if I will be interviewed and when are interviews being scheduled. I have interviews at Western Pac. in 2 weeks and DMU in 4 weeks. I was hoping to be considered for Touro MI. Any thoughts? Please let me know. :scared:

You're chances are excellent.

You are applying really late, but I guess you already know that. But I'd still say you're chances are EXTREMELY good.

I might as well chime in. I'm interviewing at Touro-CA on March 10. This Monday. So only 13 spots left as of a few weeks ago huh? Yikes...
 
Good luck with your interview. Make sure to look at some of the previous posts in this thread. There is some good information about the interview. Also, take a look at this: http://tu.edu/departments.php?id=48&page=740

There is some good information about what the ADCOM is looking for in your interview, etc.
 
Thanks BlueMonk, I am extremely looking forward to this intervew. Getting it over with that is... I read the website. There's some useful stuff there. What if you just reiterate exactly what's on there during the interview. lol... Like, "I am able to articulate in front of colleagues. I am a good listener. I am sensible towards the needs of others. My answers have substance."

i have a question about a rumor i heard from a PA student i know at touro-CA.

in a nut-shell, my dream job would be to work as a sports med doc for the san francisco 49ers. one thing ive been told over and over if you want to work for any team or something like is that you have to have connections...you have to start networking and know someone who knows someone etc. etc.

my friend who goes to touro mentioned that the school has connections with the athletic teams in teh bay area, including the 49ers, but she didnt know much detail. i'm not sure if the connections mean that touro students are able to rotate at certain facilities with the 49er docs, or i dunno.....

can anyone tell me if there is any truth to this and if so what specifically she is referring to?

I'm going to western. I personally like so cal better. Closer to family (i'm an east coast transplant) I know plenty of kids who have gone through touro, and all are on their way to success. One friend just got a residency at UCLA. Touro is a great school.

touro is VERY QUICK with everything in their process. maybe the end of this week or next week at the latest.

My turnaround was really fast. Less than two weeks from AACOMAS to secondary, less than two weeks from secondary to interview, and less than two weeks from interview to acceptance. I was truly amazed at what an organized process looks like!

Looking forward to seeing everyone in the fall!!!

Does anyone by chance know when we start school? Is it in August?
 
Hi Guys, i got placed on the medium waitlist and i was wondering if anyone knew my chances of getting in. Do you know how many people get waitlisted? Thanks so much... i know its a long shot but i am crossing my fingers =(

on the website i saw that last year orientation started on august 16th, so i'm assuming this year will also be sometime in mid-august. i wonder when they'll release the 2008-09 academic calendar?

I remember Dr. Haight saying something along the lines of most people making it off the high wait-list and that they will accept a few people off of the medium waitlist. Don't quote me on this though! Good luck. I hope you get in . Do you have any other acceptances?

I emailed them a while back and was told the calendar will not be released until April. I can definitely remember Dr. Haight saying something about starting earlier than last year though...but I cannot remember why!
