Does anybody have any comment on student externships, IM specialty track internship, and IM residency at the Tucson GME consortion/Tucson General Hospital?

I heard a rumor that Tucson Gen. Hosp. was have financial difficulties and was closing. Keep in mind this is a rumor. Does anyone know?

Still waiting! Anybody know the status of this hospital?

Tucson gen. was bought by a private company with the money to revamp it. It waill be around fro a long time.

I have your info. I have just left Tucson General. The hospital is down to simple routine and emergency admissions only, no trauma/specialty services. Med-surg is basically a SNF. The ICU has only 4 beds and med/surg has 20 possible beds.

There is so much more to tell, but I would not like to voice it in an open forum. Please e-mail me if you have any other concerns or questions.
