what does harvard mean by:

"Students who wish to apply for enrollment after three years of college may do so if their undergraduate school agrees to grant a bachelor's degree after successfully completing the first year of dental school."

and tufts requires a bachelors degree before enrolment. now, is this supposed to be a 4 year bachelors degree or would a 3 year degree suffice. i know that almost all school have taken out the traditional 3 year bachelors degree, but some schools still have that option. just want to clarify.
thanks

What they actually mean is "If a relative has made a six figure donation to our dental school in the past year and you've been awarded a Nobel prize (not in literature), please feel free to apply as a junior. Otherwise, apply as a senior and we might interview you." Don't waste your money on Harvard as a third year...you won't get in.

Could there be any juniors out there so naive to think that they could get into Harvard without a degree first?

Unless you're the next Albert Einstein

BA or BS, they're the same whether or not it took you 2 years or 10 years to get. Schools don't look at how long you were in school as a prereq. What they look at is if you took the courses necessary as described in their admin reqs.

So, if you can get a bachelors degree in 3 years, good for you.

interesting responses. this was for a friend, btw. ill be completing my honors degree in may' 07. :D
so, someone with 90 credits (typically 3 years of studies) should NOT apply to either tufts or harvard (??)

If you get your degree by the time dental school starts, then apply whenever you're ready. But the chances are VERY SLIM if you want to stop at 90 credits and jump right into dental school.

if u finish ur undergrad degree in summer, is it still seen as a junior ?? most of d-schools starts in aug and summer session finishes in june-july!!!

Dental schools don't allow you to take anything during the summer right before school starts!!!!!
