I am accepted to TUFTS and working on the TUFTS financial aid packet and FAFSA.

Because my familiy is a lower-middle class, I don't expect any financial support from my familiy. No one will support me...so my concern is a MAXIMUM loan amount!!!

Even though my parents are not rich, they earn some money.....

So if I want to MAXIMIZE loan amount, is it good for me to EXCLUDE parent financial information? or still good for me to INCLUDE parent financial information?

I don't care which loan has low interest rate...But I do care the loan amount!!!

Next year, I will apply for army HPSP

look into pg. 137 in your info book that you received during/for your interview. EVERYTHING is on there.

If you plan on taking out Health Professions Student Loan, Tufts Loan, or even Tufts grant.. you're gonna have to submit your parents tax return anyways. just submit it as an independent student. school will specifically ask you for the parental income info.

plus, if you apply with parent's information, tufts requires you to complete the CSS profile. this info is also on the same page (137).

Not just for tufts this is for other schools too. Even if you are independent, if you put down your parents income and their taxes ESPECIALLY if they dont make good money, you will get good amount of scholarships from the school and other sources that schools have. Even if they do make money, that does not mean you should not put it down, you might be eligible for diff amount of scholarship money. So always put it down. If you leave it empty, they wont give you any scholarship which comes from including that info.

To op: Yes if your family is lower-middle class, Def. include your parents info.

op it wont interfere with the amount of loan you can get.

any student will be able to take out up to the maximum that Tufts lists as their cost of attendance in loans, regardless of their financial situation. obviously, if you have parental help, you wouldn't need to take all of that out. what you should be interested in is figuring out how to get the best interest rates and such because that will be what matters.

but all of the information is in the initial information packet as well as the financial aid booklet you get with the forms.
