Tufts Interview? or secondary??

Here's the email I got on August 22, submitted my primary way before though I think:

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your application to the DMD program at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. We are delighted to learn of your interest in our school. Important information pertaining to the 2011-2012 application cycle is contained in this email. Therefore, please read the entire email.

At this time, a fee of $75 is required to further process your application. Checks or money orders should be made payable to Trustees of Tufts College. Please include your full name as it appears on your application and your AADSAS ID on the face of the check. Please send at your earliest convenience to:

Please note that due to the volume of applications we receive, we are not able to provide any status information over the phone or via email, including inquiries regarding the receipt of specific application documents (DAT scores, letters of evaluation, etc.) Please note that all application materials, including all letters of evaluation, should be sent via AADSAS. Please do not send additional materials to our office, either in paper or electronic format, as it will significantly delay the processing of your application. It is our policy that if any information is missing, or if we require additional information to make a decision on your candidacy, the Admissions Office will contact you and request this information. If you do not hear from us, you can assume that your file is under review by the Admissions Committee. All status changes will be communicated via written correspondence.

Please allow a minimum of six to eight weeks to process your file. As this is a rolling admissions process, we cannot predict exactly when you will be notified of a status change. Once a decision has been reached, you will be contacted in writing. Please note that interviews will begin in November 2011 and will continue until our class fills. Invitations for interviews will begin to be issued in October. Our goal is for all applicants to receive a written decision by the end of April 2012. Please note that many applicants may not hear from our office again until much later in the application process. This is due to the volume of applications we receive and should not be cause for alarm. Our admissions process involves a thorough evaluation of each application. We hope that you will understand the time it takes for thoughtful review and consideration of your credentials. Every effort will be made to inform you of your status in a timely manner. We thank you for your patience.

If you wish to change your contact information or withdraw your application from consideration, please e-mail [email protected]. Additionally, please add this address to your contact list to avoid any emails being filtered through a spam blocker. Any updates to your application, including contact information, should be submitted through AADSAS. If you retake the DAT between now and the end of the cycle please indicate that you would like the scores to be sent to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. The official scores will be sent to our school electronically and will be added to your file. There is no need to fax or email a copy of your score report.

I'd say go ahead and send in your check, but I doubt it will speed up your processing time.
 
Yup. Got a similar e-mail... about a month after I sent in my primary (6/2)
Too lazy to pull up the actual email to check the date.

Have not heard anything back yet, but on the ADEA portal it says Under Review.

I really want an interview at this school! I used to live in Boston and... Beantown is pretty sweet.

Don't think they started out handing out interviews yet right?

I couldn't find any thread on tufts interviews yet.
 
Tufts won't start handing interviews out till october usually as their interview dates start in November! Awful waiting period I know! Hope to see you there
 
^ Really? Tufts is in BOSTON.

Also, someone else on this forum called them, and I think the answer they received was interviews don't start until November. So patience is key...

I know where is Tufts, but I want an update on my application.
 
I physically went into the admissions office and they said to start expecting updates/invites in mid October.

Weird. I never got that email, but I submitted my app a long time ago (mid june). I've called/emailed them a few times to check on other stuff, and they've always told me they have everything, but I never sent them a secondary fee (b/c I didn't know about it.) I wonder if I should contact them again and ask them directly about the fee, or just let it ride?

You should get an email regarding secondary fee. Send it now or otherwise its too late.

Sent. Thanks for the advice. Damn, I hope this doesn't screw up my chances...Tufts is seemingly the only school who hasn't passed over my application yet!
 
Looking at last year's interview thread, it looks like they start sending out emails in the first week of October. Hang in there a little longer...we're almost there.
 
What about now - has anyone heard about interviews? Seems like it's getting really late...
 
They have been interviewing for a little while. They are probably booking only in December now. There was only one November day left when I scheduled last week.

Ty for encouragement man, I applied to tufts md sept. Myself
 
To those wondering, our school started doing interviews in the beginning of this month, and will be doing them for awhile. I believe mine was in February. Up until then I hadn't heard anything other than the automatic response saying my app and check was received. Tufts spends a ton of time on the apps. When the cycle is at it's heaviest the members of the admissions office are frequently in the office until later at night. Good luck to all of you!
 
I regret sending my application fee via regular mail....should have sent it express. What was I thinking =S
