Hi, does anyone have any experience taking premed classes at Tufts Summer Session? I'm taking premed requirements at Harvard Extension during the school year, but I'm nervous about the Harvard summer courses because they cram a year's worth of material into <7 weeks. The summer session at Tufts does the same material in 12 weeks, so I assume it'll be more doable (or at least less hectic), but I can't find anything on here about the quality of the classes or how they are graded.

I'd like to get physics out of the way, but I'm also considering orgo. Anyone have experience with Tufts summer session they can share with me? Thanks a lot.

Sorry to tag along this thread, but I have a similar question. I am a nontrad postbac and I was thinking of doing the Tufts Summer Gen Chem and finishing the rest of the core requirements at HES throughout the year. Does that seem doable? Is Tufts summer gen chem taken with the undergrads? Is it graded on a curve? Would you recommend that over HES?

I go to Tufts, but don't have any personal experience with the courses offered over the summer. However, I know a ton of people who happened to take orgo here last summer. The general consensus that I got was that it was a bitch, but that it would have been that way anywhere (just an innately hard subject - especially when crammed into 5 weeks). It might be more beneficial to take physics over the summer and orgo during the year just so you have more time to process/internalize the material of orgo, but you probably know better than I do what material/types of courses you do better in. If you have any more specific questions feel free to shoot me a PM since I probably won't end up back on this thread.

Hey newbie, I don't know about Tufts for chemistry, but I've heard really good things about the Gen Chem. at Harvard over the summer, if you think you can manage the pace (a year of material crammed into 7 weeks).

Thanks! I just got my acceptance to HES so I think that's what I'm going to end up doing this summer. Now I just gotta find housing...from across the country.

Hi, I'm thinking about taking Physics 1 and 2 with lab in a series next summer (2014) at Tufts and need to plan my schedule for the 2013 school year accordingly. As such, I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice, feedback, or any sort of information about Intro Physics 1+2 over the summer at Tufts. Also, any knowledge about professors or a copy of a syllabus would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Harvard Extension's orgo is genuinely top-notch. The physics is good but not as good as the orgo. If you're choosing between which to take there during the regular school year, orgo is probably the better choice.

I agree. The orgo course at HES is great!! They teach the course well, are extremely helpful, and actually want the students to succeed in the course...unlike my undergrad.

Hey guys, thanks for your responses. Does anyone have an idea about the Tufts physics summer session (1+2)?
