Tufts waitlist chosen for class of 2011

At my Tufts interview they mentioned that the applicants that make the waiting list are sometimes offered spots in the subsequent year's entering class. I was wondering if anyone knew about whether or not this auctually happens, and if it does how often it does and how selective they are.
I'm on the waiting list right now and would much rather wait a year to go to Tufts than go to the other school that I've gotten into. Plus having a year to spend work and travel would be awsome before getting myself into 4 more years of school.

I didn't hear that at my interview (2/28). They probably will give that option to a few applicants that have superb stats but applied when the class was already full.

Yes this happened to me last year. Got waitlisted after interviewing in like feb 05 for the c/o 2009, then got a letter sometime in the summer/early fall satying they dont have room but we'll offer you a spot for 2010. However, they want you to commit at that point and pay a deposit and whatnot, so if youre interested in applying to other schools for the 2010(you are reapplying), you have to decide at that point.

Not real sure how often this happens. At the time they offered they were like 20/20/17 3.5/3.2 science
