Just today my status changed on AADSAS from blank to "Received/Under Review". I think that means I'm in for sure!!! 👎

i spoke with them on the phone today, they told me that they are still inviting applicants in and will be interviewing through feb.

haha no. By now if you haven't interviewed or you don't have an interview coming up I would say your chances are slim...

man this blows!! Canadian DAT scores went in on the 15th dec..lol.. i guess that kinda means im out fo this round? I applied to 6 schools and i havent heard jack from any of them, until a week ago Marquette said "under review" and today tufts went from blank to "under review"

God this is depressing!! Lets hope UBC has a spot fo me!!

Hey, I just interviewed at Tufts and I have the stats. Last year they interviewed 444-ish students and accepted like 276 (can't remember exactly) and ended up with a class of 165. This year, as of today, they counted 67-ish deposits from acceptees meaning they have tons of seats left since there class size has been consistantly around 160. Also, I think that they said that they've interviewed around 270 people and have accepted around 150-ish (don't quote me on that) people. So, good luck everybody! From what I gathered, if you get an interview then you have a really good shot at getting accepted. Just a note. Make sure you have all of the prerequisites fulfilled as they will but you on a hold.

You're not the only one. I check it at 4 am and then check it again 5 minutes later lol.

You mean they won't interview you or accept you unless you have all the prereqs? I'm planning on taking my last two next semester, so I would have them done before dental school starts...

No, I'm they can interview you (obviously, since I did and so did others with holds) but I'm not sure if they'll accept you, let alone matriculate you, willst you have a hold. Good luck!!

thanks for the post denticus! i'm a little surprised about the acceptance stats though, since I interviewed for Tufts last cycle around November and they said that around 80% of candidates who are interviewed are accepted, however if only 150 out of 270 were accepted that means about it is only 50-60%. Wondering if Tufts is changing their selection process...

They can (and will) accept you without the completion of all of the pre-reqs. Clearly you couldn't matriculate without them, but I was accepted on Nov. 30th and was still completing my physics I and physics II this semester, and some random biology that they decided to count as my 2nd semester of freshman bio (i ap'ed out of them) rather than my other 20+ bio hours... 🙄

I don't think that they are accepting in waves anymore. If you look on predents from last year, it seems that lots of people were accepted at random dates in the months of January and February. Some were accepted like 3 days after and it could be up to 20 or so days after as well.

Yeah, my numbers may be off too though. I didn't jot them down so odds are that I have some of the numbers wrong but the trend is correct. What I do remember is that it seemed that the percentage of those actually attending Tufts, to date, for those who were accepted was lower then what it was last year. This is good news for all of us that interviewed because they'll have to accept more people to fill all of their seats.

Utah, although I did live in Texas for a long time. Thanks for putting up the stats though. I guess I was sort of close.

That 69 makes me happy!😀 They practically have about 100 spots open!

So the 69 means that those people made the deposits and are attending in Fall. How about the 79 people (148-69=79) people who got accepted? Did they chose other schools OR do they still have some time to pay in their deposits???

Ahhh with a PAT of 15 and AA of 20 and TS 20 (GPA 3.57 as of this semester) I still dont think I should hope for an interview. I feel that there is good chance for people with higher DAT scores.

Well i would like to get an honest opinion as to wat people think are my chances:
my GPA is 3.39 and sci is 3.4
Canaidan DAT (TS/AA/Pat/ Carving): 19/19/19/23

Can't really comment man. Adcoms look at the entire package and make decisions. GPA and DATs are only two factors. Your stats seems fine, but there are many things are play a part in decisions.

At this point, waiting is the best option.

Are you kidding me? I only have a 19 AA (including a 14 QR) and interviewed 2 days ago. Both you and Tamkhan have higher DAT scores then me so I'm sure, so long as the rest of your app. is competitive, that you both have a good shot of getting an interview. Also, Tufts probably likes minorities more then any school I've visited this year. Needless to say, if you stand out in that respect then you'll have a great chance. I'm not a minority but I have other qualities that make me stand out. Good luck!

they are holding interviews today or at least today was listed as one of the days you could choose from to schedule your interview date.

I was also told that the adcom would meet later today and that we'll find out next week. We would've found out on Monday but it's a holiday so don't expect to hear until later. I'm still hoping that somehow they'll update it today itself, maybe they just tell us next week so we don't hound them if they don't get to it right away today? that way the school has some buffer time too? I feel like I get more antsy by the minute. I haven't interviewed anywhere else and with all this talk about the cycle winding down I am on pins and needles about this decision esp. cuz I LOVED THIS SCHOOL! ahh Only a few more days (or hours if they update today?) to go!!

Hopefully these stats with only 69 seats full so far means that we have a good chance of getting accepted and hopefully for all those waiting on interview that there are a good amount left 🙂

Exactly! That means they have anywhere between 90-100 seats left. It's as if Tufts right now, if they were any other traditional school, still has not accepted anyone yet, and guess what? We're at the tope of the list as apparently close to 80% of those interviewed get accepted. Good luck all. I hope WE ALL hear good news come next Tuesday!

Sounds good, sounds good. But, when I spoke with the them on the phone, I was told that they expect to fill their class by the end of Feb. You think they'd be able to do that with roughly a 100 spots still left to fill?

I'm not sure but, unlike other schools, Tufts is interviewing like crazy right now and it wouldn't surprise me that they get pretty dang close to their 444 mark from last year by then. The reality is, I just hope that they get desperate enough to accept me.

So far, my condition looks as the following. Next week, Tufts, Temple & Marquette should be sending out acceptances, if not, early next week. Then, early in the week, two weeks following that, VCU & UNLV should be sending out their 2nd rounds. Then, there's a big question mark next to Baylor and Creighton for the rest of the cycle. Don't know why I decided to mention this...just thinking out loud I suppose.
