Their confirmation email says that interview invites will be sent out in early October and interviews will actually start in November.

Please allow a minimum of six to eight weeks to process your file. As this is a rolling admissions process, we cannot predict exactly when a particular applicant will be notified of a status change. Once a decision has been reached, you will be contacted in writing. Please note that interviews will begin in November 2008 and continue until our class fills. Invitations for interviews will begin to be issued in early October. Our goal is for all applicants to receive a written decision by the end of April 2009. Please note that many applicants may not hear from our office again until much later in the application process. This is standard and should not be cause for alarm. Our admissions process involves a thorough evaluation of each application. We hope that you will understand the time it takes for thoughtful review and consideration of your credentials. Every effort will be made to inform you of your status in a timely manner.

tufts does indeed start interviewing later than other schools. this could be due to the fact that the admissions committee probably just finished wrapping up all our loose ends (course reqs, immunizations, forms, etc.) and can now begin focusing on 08-09 applications. our first day of school was the day after labor day which only about 2 weeks ago. some of my other friends had been in school for a month by the time we started at tufts. if you get an interview in january you still have a decent chance of getting into tufts simply because they start later.
