I have sent an email to Harvard in regards to this, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

According to the information I heard on CNN and read on another website, "Families earning less than $60,000 a year will no longer be expected to pay for their children to attend Harvard, school officials said today. "

Would anyone have any additional information on this?

1. Does every family that makes under $60,000 qualify for this?
2. Does it only apply to in-state, out of state and international students equally?
3. Anyone know of a list of other schools that offer free tuition?

Thank you

Doesn't apply to dental school or medical school. Your family income doesn't matter once you leave undergrad. Everyone has to take out loans unless you do the military scholarship, NHSC scholarship, get a scholarship directly from the school (very few, if any, cover the entire expense), or have super rich parents that will pay for you.

A couple of Ivy league schools in addition to Harvard pay for your undergrad education if the family makes less then 60K actually. Just FYI, it's not just Harvard that does that.

I know Harvard has a lot of money but c'mon someone has to pay for those professors' salaries, equipment, janitors, electricity, toilet paper.. This isn't communism.

It only applies to undergrad. But let's be honest, kids who get to Harvard had the best private education, with money to participate in team sports. Kids whose families make under 60k and go to inner city schools most likely aren't gonna make it to Harvard. Most don't even graduate from high school.

Unfortunately for all of us, no dental schools are free.
If you're African American, Hispanic, or Native American, you can win tons of scholarships if you tell them you want to practice in underserved areas helping out your own race. You don't have to do it, you just have to tell them you will and they will believe you.

Wow.....I don't even know where to start with this one. Since when did 60K mean you live in the inner city projects? Last time I checked, that's pretty much suburban income right there. Have you not been to an Ivy league school lately? This isn't the 1940s where only rich affluent kids get in. All sorts of people attend Ivy's from everywhere. I used to live in a normal city suburb where all the kids went to public school and a handful got into Ivy's and Harvard every year.

Because we know that only African American, Hispanic, and Native American live in underserved areas... 🙄

And Asians living in underserved areas is not worth squat. 🙄

Would you happen to know if international students would qualify under the Harvard program or is it limited to just US students?
