Tuition Increase...
Started by drillbit
Once you enter dental school, can they increase your tuition? I know D1 students entering the next year might have a higher tuition, but can they increase tuition for students that signed on for the ride under the prior tuition schedule?
yes they absolutely can

Just about all of the interviews I went to said that they WILL increase the tuition every year... 🙁

the tuition alone went up from 18K to 20K between my interview and the open house...oh well it's going to be what it is
My tuition when from 44K to 46K!
ouch! 46K? is that with fees or with fees and living expense. My tuition when from 44K to 46K!
Their estimate is "currently" ~28K a year without living expenses, they estimate that at 25K (that seems high doesn't it?)
How much could it really cost: 1K for rent, 500 for gas, electric, and 500/month for food=2K total *12 months =24K, ok maybe it's reasonable
No that's just tuition, fees are another 15K/year and living expenses another 15K-20K/year.
28K/year for tuition and fees????.....that's a hell of deal....I wish I had a state school!

did your tuition never change in 4 years while you were in undergrad? this is kind of the norm.

I had scholarships - so I really didn't pay attention to year-year tuition increases - talk about sheltered

At Buffalo, we had an increase in the middle of the year effective for this semester. I think out of state was 16,250/semester and went up 3,500 for the spring and in state was 8,100/semester and went up 1,100. So thats a 7,000 increase for out of state..pretty big. Not positive, but I think Stony Brook may have had the same thing since they had the same tuition before.
