I'm sure this has been done before... but I wanted to ask the new 2003 applicants (or the 2002 applicants who just applied)... what was/is most important to you in deciding where you applied/are applying to medical school... so how would you rank quality*, tuition, and location?

    Mine is...

    1. quality
    2. location
    3. tuition

*By whatever ranking you like to use, USNews, PR, or whatever...

    Thanks :)

Yeah that would be nice... but you know some schools trick you! They say they have a "Pass/Fail" system... but then later they tell you it's "Pass with Honors," "High Pass," "Pass" and "Fail" or something like that... umm, can we say A, B, C, F?

--- that's where i'm applying. if i get into more than 1 school, tuition will definitely play a bigger role in the final decision.

Now, I am by no means rich, but I should be able to pay off the debt that I accrue after residency.
And by quality, I only look at the rankings of the schools to find out their average stats. When I make my final decision (if I make it and not all of the schools that I've applied to) the quality factor will be based on things like how the students feel about their school, the type of curriculum, etc.

    1. prestige

    2. location (how fun the city is, how attractive the girls r nearby, the weather)

    3. proximity to family. after the first yr, i don't believe u get that much time for vacation...so it'd be nice to not have to move too far away.

    4. undergrad campus affiliated w/ the college nearby is also a definite plus!

    but smurf's list isn't bad either =)

    1. Quality - I want the best education possible during the 4 years I spend in medschool.

    2. Location - Preferably somewhere close to home, but if that doesn't work out I want somwhere fresh and exciting - hence I'm going to NYC.

    3. Tuition - Doesn't really matter since once I become a doctor I'll be able to pay it off eventually.

I actually was trying to be an a##hole and mock you for your asian women thread. You seem like you are posting to try to pick up women. I don't know how that's going to work
