Hi, all...I was wondering if anyone could give me more info about this program. It's the only post grad program I have applied to...is it hard to get accepted? Does it matter what med school you got waitlisted at to get an acceptance? I really want to know more about this program...Thanks.

Did you do a search for 'Tulane ACP' or 'Anatomy Certification Program'? There is a good amount of info on here already. I applied to the program last year but was not granted admission (luckily for me, I got pulled off a waitlist a few weeks later anyway). I had a total of three or four waitlists at the time of application to the ACP. I really don't know exactly what they look for other than simply who they think would be the most promising candidates to get into med school when they reapply. They only take 10 or 12 students out of 50 or 60 applicants from what I recall, and you take the first semester medical school curriculum with the option of staying through the spring to take neuroscience. That's pretty much all I remember, so I hope this is at least somewhat helpful.

I actually did the program, and am about to start my fourth year at Tulane. It doesn't matter what school in the US you got waitlisted to. You can go to www.som.tulane.edu, then go to departments, then department of structural and cellular biology, then anatomy certification program to get more info. The previous poster hit the high points. You may get waitlisted to this program as well, but the turnover is very rapid, and they let you know pretty quickly if you're in or not. They don't leave you hanging around like the medical schools do during the fall and spring. PM me if you have any other questions

I've known many people to do the program and most got into med school the following year.

It's a good program, well respected and could get you out of some of your requirements your actual first year in med school (you take all the same classes as the first year class accept the culture society one)...so you should have more free time and time to do well when you actually do start.

I got in but declined to go to grad school. I would highly recommend the program.

I'm anxiously awaiting for a response from them...I got waitlisted at TCOM....it is an osteopathic med school...but on the website it just said you had to be waitlisted at a medical school....it didn't really specify. I hope my chances are still good...My MCAT is ok (28 R) but my gpa is kind of borderline (overall 3.4 science 3.15). I'm of kicking myself because I found out about the pharmacology program at tulane which takes more students. Thanks for the replies. 🙂

I heard through email. I think they said they would have a definite reply about the status of all applicants by June 30. Goodluck.
