Hey guys,
i submitted my amcas earlier today and its still in the process of being verified, but i noticed on the tulane website that you could go ahead and fill out their secondary application. Anyone know about this or tried it out yet? I'm pretty eager to finish this whole process as soon as possible, but i don't want it to appear rushed. Anyone printed out their app, filled out the secondary and submitted a completed app to tulane?

Does everyone get a secondary at tulane? Do they wait for verification before they process..and if so, why do you need to send a copy of your amcas file?

thanks

send the 2ndary. call 'em next week to make sure they've received it. it'll only look rushed if your responses aren't well-written. yes, everyone gets a 2ndary. i assume that they verify that your amcas has been verified. it wouldn't make sense otherwise. i have no idea why they require the hard copy. maybe, they'd rather waste my/your paper than their own.

your amcas should be processed/verified in less than a week.

keep the faith

I waited till AMCAS sent them my app, then went ahead and filled out the secondary. Except for MCAT scores, my file was complete in early August. My scores had expired, and I retook it that August. But they had my previous scores, so they pretty much knew how I'd do. Anyway, it worked for me. 👍 But I have no idea if it matters which one they get first.

They say they want a copy of AMCAS, but do you know if I have to include the section that lists the schools I applied to? I would rather not let on this information. Would it be a big deal if I cut that section off? 😳

I mailed my Tulane secondary off yesterday. It cost me $1.06. I included a copy of my AMCAS which was nice and easy. The Tulane application was a breeze no wonder they get so many applicant. My pic and 95$. I hope I didn't forget anything. Good luck everybody!

Anyone have an answer to my question...Can we leave off the schools applied to portion? I'd rather not give them this information. : )

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone did this and it was OK, or if people would advice against cutting out the list of schools, or had any opinion on the matter.

I sent an email to Tulane about it and here was the response. It should clear things up.

"We actually want you to print out and include a copy of the primary
application when you send in the secondary. It is not relevant to us what
other schools you are applying to, so you can leave it or remove it. Thank you

Tulane University School of Medicine
Office of Admissions and Student Affairs"

Well, I guess Minion has the official word on that. I applied to Tulane for entering class of 2005 - what I had done was saved a copy of my app as html file to my computer & I went into the file in notepad & took out that part about the schools.

But then, I'm only on the waitlist at the moment. (PLEASE SEND GOOD KARMA MY DIRECTION PEOPLE, I NEED IT!) 🙂

i was working on that today. i liked their questoins, i liked that they asked about hobbies and interests 😀
