Hello all,

Thank God, I was accepted to one of my top 5 choices this week and I'm ecstatic. I have another interview this Thursday that I scheduled a few weeks ago to a school in NYC. I was wondering if it wa inappropriate to cancel this interview, since I would most likely end up going to my current acceptance over it anyway. Will this action affect my chances of getting into other schools?

If not inappropriate, how would you go about doing it?

Thanks.

Not inappropriate. Just be cordial about it. I'd suggest emailing the admissions office, be grateful for the consideration thus far, inform them of your acceptance, apologize for the last minute notice, maybe say something about how you don't feel comfortable taking an interview spot if you don't see yourself matriculating. Call to confirm they have received your cancellation.

Congrats on your acceptance. I'm frantically checking email myself, haha 🙂

Assuming you're not from NY, you can mention finances too. Traveling for interviews gets expensive.

I agree with the other posters. In fact, I think canceling the interview is the appropriate thing to do, provided you do not see yourself matriculating to it any more.

Than you, guys. And good luck NeuroNYC! Hope you get accepted to your top choices 🙂
