My top three:
The First 48
Locked up Abroad
The O'Reilly Factor
Caught the first episode of Primetime Crime the other night on ABC....pretty good.
The only show on TV since I've been born that's worth a damn is The Wire. It doesn't appeal to many though. You have to be able to understand black inner-city slang (no different than trying to read Shakespeare in ye olde English)...and be able to follow a complex story arc..and not be afraid of gut-wrenching things happening to the complex characters they created. **** is like Dickens...and I'm not exaggerating.

Other than that I watch House. I'll watch random shows on Discovery, the History Channel...stuff like that...everything else...eh...
Dang, that scene is catchy! Makes me want to watch that show! When does it come on?
It was on for 5 seasons between 2002-2008. The story is very progressive in nature (like a series of novels), so to really get it all you probably need to start from season 1, episode 1 and go from there. Sometimes they show it on BET, but it's available on DVD. Maybe rent a season on Netflix or something. I'm on my third time watching the entire 60 episodes in chronological order..and there are still little things I'm picking up for the first time.
The Wire is truly amazing. It's nice to watch on DVD, so you can stop it and figure out what's going on. The show does not baby you; it has a large cast, and when they bring the characters back on, you need to remember who they are. It's powerful drama, and it shows that there's good and bad in all types of society.
Dexter is also really good. It's about a serial killer with a conscious. It's got some humor in it, some sadness, and not too much gore.
Deadwood I like to describe as the real wild west. It's raunchy, kind of gross at times, and makes you glad you live in civilization. But it's good.
For good shows that can be kind of silly, I like Chuck and Burn Notice. They're both spy shows that are silly, but they intend to not take themselves too seriously, especially Chuck.
One of my favorites is Veronica Mars. It's not really a teen show, even though it's about teens. It's more like Buffy w/out the vampires.
If you like sci-fi, Firefly and Farscape are both really good. Firefly is a mix of a western and sci-fi (strange, but it works). There's a lot of humor. Farscape is made by the Jim Henson company, and the puppetry is amazing. It's about an astronaut that gets sucked into a wormhole and ends up living on a living ship with all sorts of strange aliens. Despite the puppets, it's not a kid's show.
Oh, another good show is Arrested Development. It's a sit-com that is absolutely hilarious.
Just about all of these are over now (except Chuck and Burn Notice), but you can get them on DVD.
Daisy of Love, Rock of Love, Flavor of Love, A Shot at Love, A Shot at Love 2, I Love New York, Charm School, The Real World, Tool Academy, Scream Queens, The Duel 2
I rarely watch tv, except to watch my two favorite tv shows, which are:
1.) Gossip Girl
2.) 90210
Quite the intellectual, I know. I mostly just like to see the fashions on these shows.
you have great taste in TV shows!!!
😍
I second all of farscape girl's recommendations. especially the wire, deadwood, arrested development, and firefly. If you're interested in sci fi, check out the movie "serenity", which ties into Firefly .. although im not sure if it will spoil the plot of the series, cause i havent watched the series yet.
Also: The Next Generation. Cant forget about that classic!
Thanks!
You really should watch Firefly. I think it's better than Serenity, actually, although it was nice Serenity tied up some loose ends.
Out of curiosity, do you like Deep Space Nine? It's one of my favorite shows (right up there with Farscape), but I don't bring it up as much, mostly because people can't get their mind over the Star Trek thing...
way too many shows I could recommend...a couple funny ones nobody has mentioned yet are
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
East Bound and Down
