HST is more research oriented and while NP is more traditional. HST is better meant for those who want to go in academic medicine and research medicine. At least that is what I gathered form the website.

HST is more hardcore, in terms of class time, in that you're gonna be in class from 8 to 5 (or something like that) every day. New Pathways is more self-directed learning, focused on Problem-based learning. Depending on what your learning style is and what exactly you want out of med school, there's these 2 programs available. They are going through with a curriculum change with new pathways, but it probably won't affect next year's entering class.

yah....when I interviewed there my student interviewer said that those in HST would hate the NP program and the people in NP would probably die in the HST program 😛. And my other interviewer said that HST is more for like Caltech people. So if you really like hardcore math physics and engineering you should do HST 😀
