Which is precisely why I would want an A and a C. You would probably get a chance to explain your C and how getting a C has made you a better student, learner, blah, blah, blah...
I doubt you would get the same opportunity with two Bs.
I'd take the B's...especially post acceptance. At least at UVA, they make you write a letter to explain any C you get after the last transcript they've seen. Two B's are seen as acceptable, so there is no need to explain them! Also, B's are not mediocre, they are above average. 😀

Since when did a B = mediocre. Adcoms : "I'm sorry, but good is just not good enough." Back in the day it equated the the fact that you were in the top 15% of a class. To me, that aint bad.
