Opinions on this?
Info: First year student, plan on making up for the credits in summer, Canadian student.
Reason: Prioritized my EC's over marks, slowly learning to balance everything
Will this ruin my chances completely? Should I do my best to avoid this? I'm certain if i retake the course next year I will do flawlessly in it that is why I'm considering dropping it. If i do it will bring me down to 3 courses this semester and 5 next +2 in the summer. Thank you for your time.
Final date to withdraw from a course without refund is Nov 14th

Not an issue. Drop if you think you will do poorly. Don't let it happen again and you should be fine.

I agree with the above. Drop it. Don't let it happen again. You are a freshman which is a very forgiving year. This IN NO WAY will hurt you if you bounce back and excel in the rest of your undergrad.

Concur with emphasis.
