From an occlusal view, the arrangement of the mandibular arch has one segment of the dentition that is aligned in a straight line. Which 4 teeth does this include?

-not sure on this one, seen this question asked in several forms, is it all the premolars and 1st/2nd molar or no?

Second, what tooth has the largest crown incico-cercival?

-i thought max central but i read in a text that max lateral

I think for the first question...is 2nd molar, 1st molar, 2 PM, and not quite sure if it includes the 1PM.

For the second question - I believe its mandibular canine - I have seen this quesition many times all with different answers -- anyone else care to chime in...

Mandibular premolars + 1st and 2nd molars

Largest crown I-C: Mandibular canine > Maxillary central > Maxillary Canine ?

the second question, its the mandibular canineis the one, followed by maxi centrals and maxi laterals.Take the liberty to correct me friends.Thanks.

1st ans is.........mandibular 2nd PM and 1st,2nd,3rd molars
2nd ans should be........max.central incisors coze max CI has largest crown and max. canine is the longest tooth.
so correct me if i am wrong

In decks it has given

In working side movement (rigth or left), the mesiobuccal cusp of maxillary first molar passes through lingual groove of the mandibular first molar

Ans:mandibular molar1,2 , mandibular premolar second

Ans: it is maxillary central incisor according to decks and according to wheelers ..it is mandibular canine ..so now up to you

max 1st pass through the mesiofacial groove and second pass through central groove or facial groove
and in non working movements cusps dont touch. and there is lateral as well as anterior movement so we have to be careful about that, whereas in working side movement the only movement is lateral.
max CI - longest and widest crown of maxillary anterior teeth
max canine: longest root and longest tooth
Mand canine: Longest crown of all the permanent teeth

Hey buddy there is no doubt in this answer as this is given in the decks this is a stiaght away question in the Deck among MISC question 'that central incisor is the tooth with the longest crown' though i agree with rest of the guys that wheelers says from the charts that mandibular canine has the longest crown.. but anyways the golden rule says follow DECKS ..🙂

According to the Brown and Herbranson Tooth Atlas:

"The incisocervical crown dimension of maxillary canines is less than maxillary central incisors but greater than maxillary lateral incisors (Ash/Wheeler; Bjorndal et al; Dewey; Jordan/Abrams/Kraus; Woelfel/Scheid)."

Also according to the Brown and Herbranson Tooth Atlas, the crown length of the mand canine is 11.1mm, while the crown length for the max central is 10.9mm.

i think i will go with the mand canine as the longest crown as its given in 2 text books.
